This guide was developed from the good of people's hearts for the players of all experience levels. From Town Hall 1 all the way to Town Hall 9. TH 10 is not included because by the time you reach it you should know more than the developers themselves. This is a pure guide which does not include any and/or anything to do with cheats. And last, but not least, a huge thank you to Super Cell for this awesome game and their fantastic effort and support. Please, give us some feedback and tell us what you think. Clash on!
Town Hall 1
First as usual, you complete a tutorial, which requires certain steps to be taken before the actual game begins. REMEMBER - Try not to spend any gems on anything except 'builder' that the tutorial asks you to. This simply is a waste. If you have, it is not the end of the world, because the first builder you buy requires only 250/500 gems you were given in the first place. By saying that I simply emphasize that the gems that you earn should be saved for the builders that you will need in the future. Now, at this stage things are as easy as they can be in every meaning of it. Here are some steps you should take:
1) Complete the tutorial without spending gems if possible except when building a 'builder'.
2) Build every building you can from the shop, except decorations, but only if you wish.
3) Upgrade every building you built to its limit - that is when the game suggests to upgrade TH in order to build more of such or upgrade to a higher level.
4) And finally upgrade your TH, which should be the very LAST thing you do.
Now, this is your first golden rule you are going to learn. TH is the last building you want to upgrade for the following reasons:
- cost of 'search' increases significantly
- less loot gained from TH's below when attacked
You probably asked yourself: 'How can I actually get some for FREE?' Well, the answer is: 'No, you cannot get gems for free in a legal way.' Full stop. Apparently there are hundreds of ways you can get them for FREE by downloading some shady software and/or similar sort of thing and yes, SOME people succeeded. And once again I highlighted the word SOME. Now, one way is through the LEGAL store, but this is nowhere near FREE. The free AND legal way I know is through achievements. Scroll down in achievements in the game and see for yourself. This in return requires some effort, because potato will not plant itself.
Spending gems is a different story. One way is short and simple - BOOST, applies to barracks, heroes and resource collectors. Other way is called 'speeding up' which is more costly and less beneficial.
- Need a reason to save the gems? The answer is BUILDERS. Nothing can replace them so save hard, because they are reasonably expensive. Use the gems wisely. Or not wisely, but remember, at the end of the day if you wasted your gems you can't get them back!
Once you got at least 4 builders, you are more than welcome to go wild with them and spend the gems hard in every way you can.
Shield - is your best friend!
Yes, I've said it. Without one, the chance of you getting attacked is 10/10. No matter if the attacker is going for resources or the stars you WILL be attacked eventually. Unless you log on every now and again several times a day every day. In that case you got nothing to worry about however this applies MOSTLY for TH 4 +. (Notice how I said MOSTLY). Keep in mind that for those who don't care about the shield that think they can survive if one did not even exist - they are wrong. Because at one stage they are going to get raided by a TH from 100 levels above and lose everything they saved for the last week. Buying a shield or not is entirely up to you. It's awesome to have one if a building is upgrading and it's also OK not to.
For each of the Town Hall (TH) sections, you will be taken through the bullet points to make it as quick as possible. Before this however, as you can see there are sections on some essential aspects such as how to manage gems for instance. I will highlight the main points so they stand out to make it even easier. Bear in mind, that although all of the information is vital, the road and its boundaries don't stop within this guide, because it's only a piece of advise and not an instruction. You can break the rules and be as creative as you can be in your own way. "Sometimes the odd one is the last one standing".
