Frequently Asked Questions
SMACs FAQs; we are here to help you. If you are wondering about something, chances are someone else has wondered the same thing. We hope to answer your questions about why social media and content (SMAC) is essential to your brand.
Be prepared, because you still have to do the work and research. We are just a guide that includes some inspiration and motivation.
1) What does SMAC mean?
It is an acronym for Social Media and Content.
2) Is social media really essential to my business?
Yes! You are looking at this app or site because you feel the need to use social media more. Successful companies in today's world use social media. To help you further understand the impact social media can have on your bottom line check out this article -Marketing Insider Group.
3) I am an individual, can SMAC help me be more active on social media?
Absolutely! Social media is important for individuals today, just like businesses, they need to have a presence. We can help you increase your social media activity by motivating you with a daily idea of the type of post to create and post. The work and dedication are still up to you.
4) Is the SMAC information current to today’s social media practices?
Yes. And we’ll ensure it stays that way with revisions and updates along the way.
5) Are you going to teach me something I don't already know?
Maybe, maybe not. What we are is a guide — a place for you to get daily inspiration and motivation to post regularly on social media. We hope you learn how to be more confident in your accounts and that you learn to use new tools to be creative, like Canva. So we may teach you something new, but through osmosis only.
6) Do I post to all social media platforms, or is one more important than the others?
This all depends on you or your company. Where are your friends? Where are your competitors? Where are the people you are trying to reach? Find those and you'll find your platforms. Remember, in business sometimes your customers are in other places, so we encourage you to try other platforms. At least for a year to see if there are any gains.
7) How often will I get push notifications from you?
You will hear from us multiple times a month with BE PRODUCTIVE nudges or other important information. Don't forget our tagline - a SMAC a day, and you are on your way ... (to more likes, comments, shares, views, customers, and sales!)
8) I'm tired of seeing other companies’ posts, how will SMAC help my company have greater social media reach?
We can help you get control of your posts. Our schedule gives you an item a day to post. For example, today’s suggestion might be to post a quote. You would find a relevant quote to your industry or maybe use one you personally enjoy. Next, you would either create a meme or locate a pre-made one... and then share it (be sure you have the right or permission before posting another person’s work) on your social media platforms.
While SMAC will help you get active each day across social media platforms, you are more than welcome to post multiple times a day. With a daily commitment to your social media, you should start to see your reach grow organically(without advertising). Admittedly, it’s challenging to grow your social media presence organically nowadays; however, it is still possible. Here is a great blog post on Mention - 10 ways to improve your organic reach on Social Media.
9) Your calendar shows what type of social media content to share, but what time of day should I post?
All different times! There are features in Facebook, YouTube, and most other platforms, if you have a company page it will show you how active your page is and the times your page is most active. We suggest you use this as a key, but it is not important. Just mix it up. Not everyone is on social media at the same time, nor every day. So you will catch some people one day, but another on the next. (Interesting fact - There are more than 24 time zones in the world)
10) What if someone I know, or my competitor, is using this app?
In 2018, there were an estimated 2.65 billion people worldwide using social media. That number is expected to increase by 4.5 million in 2021. Social media usage and networking grows each day! If someone else you know is using this app, YAY! Just one more person trying to get a leg up in the social media world. With countless memes, quotes, and videos, there is plenty of content to post and share each day. Don't be concerned that someone else has this app. Share it!
11) Do you include International holidays?
We include major international holidays for multiple countries. If you find one you think we should include drop us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org. We can’t guarantee we’ll add it, but we will take a look! Remember, you can do it on your own instead of using our calendar purpose, especially if it is a holiday that is celebrated in your area.
12) What are SMACs flashcards and how do I use them?

No. We do allow you to cancel at any time, and your subscription will stop immediately with no further charges.
14) How many DAILY SMACs are available at any given time?
We don’t want to overwhelm you and create more stress in your lives, so we’ve built out the calendar for 14 days, but leave the previous 7 days available for your viewing. This allows us to keep the SMAC information current (see question 4).
15) Who came up with SMAC, and why?
It was started from necessity by two sisters who work for different companies. They both needed a yearly calendar that provided guidance on what type of content to share and when to post to social media.
Unfortunately, the abundance of information scattered about the internet proved too difficult to keep up with. The two wanted a way to simplify and consolidate the material. After they built and used an Excel spreadsheet for a while, the sisters realized their format could help others, which led to the creation of SMAC.
