SATURDAY MORNINGREAD IT.“Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.”- Romans 15:7; NLTPROCESS IT.Labels are a social norm. We tag someone’s identity by the label society places on them. Sometimes we even go as far as to identify with the labels someone places on us. We don’t consider the pain behind a label or even the journey behind the label. But what if we chose to view someone or even ourselves from a different lens? What if we extended our vantage point beyond a label and took the time to hear someone’s story? Or what if we took the time to label ourselves rather than allowing society to do it for us?In reality, there is only one label that should be placed on all of us. Only one label that we should consider as valuable. Only one label that we should allow to identify us. That label is that we are accepted into God’s kingdom and labeled as his children. And just as Christ has labeled you as CHOSEN, we should seek to live beyond our culture and choose to see others just as Christ has labeled them also. CHOSEN. VALUED. HIS. PRAY IT. God, help us to remind ourselves that we are chosen by you. Help us to remember that the only label that matters is the one that you give us. Help us to live beyond our culture and view others in the same way. Amen. Live BEYOND the norm of your culture. Culture thinks issues, Jesus thinks identity. SUNDAY MORNINGREAD IT.“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” – James 5:16; NLT PROCESS IT.Have you ever felt like you were alone? Have you ever felt like you have so many emotions stirring up inside of you but no one to share your thoughts, frustrations, or concerns with? The fact of the matter is, we were never meant to do life alone. God designed us to live among people and to be in relationship with others so that we might be surrounded by people who will rally behind us. Who will guide us, pray for us, and serve as a companion in a world that can seem so lonely. Scripture says to confess your sins to one another. But it doesn’t stop there. We need to have someone in our life who we can confess our sins to, share our thoughts with, express our emotions to, and who we can come to for help and guidance. When we don’t have someone like that in our lives we feel like we have to carry our burdens alone. But the reality is that you need someone who is willing to pray for you. Who won’t place a label on you but instead who you can trust with your sins, your baggage, your secrets, your emotions, and your feelings. If you don’t have someone like that in your life then you need to get one. But you must be selective. Find someone who will push you toward God, who will pray for you, and who will push you in the right direction. Friends are great but you need to find a mentor. Someone older, wiser, and who has been where you are. PRAY IT. God, thank you that you did not design us to do life alone. Amen. REMEMBER IT. Live BEYOND yourself; find a mentor. MONDAY MONINGREAD IT.“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”- Romans 3:23; NLT“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Jesus Christ.”- Romans 8:1; NLT PROCESS IT.Last night we heard the story of the adulterous woman. When hearing that story how did it make you feel? Has there been a time when you felt like the woman who’s shame and guilt was being displayed? Or has there been a time when you were in the same position as one of her accusers? Guilt and shame stretch beyond momentary feelings. They quickly form into thoughts about ourselves that we live with daily. But God doesn’t call any of us to live in shame. We all sin and fall short of God’s glory. And because of that we should not live as accusers, nor should we live as people bound by our guilt and shame. God doesn’t condemn us but instead he forgives us because we don’t belong to our sin or our shame. We belong to Jesus. PRAY IT. God, show us how to live every day in freedom; understanding that we are not bound by our sin and shame. Help us to live under the grace that you so willingly give to us and that we would do the same with others. Amen. REMEMBER IT. We have been given the freedom to live BEYOND our guilt.

I don’t know about this God thing yet. What now? “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”- 1 Thessalonians 5:11That’s OK! We’re here to help! We believe that God loves you and has a plan for your life. One of our leaders or student staff members can help guide you in this new chapter of your life. Join us on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings and get connected in a small group. We believe that we grow more in circles than we do in rows. Connecting with your peers who may be on the same journey as you are is a great start! I just decided to accept Jesus into my heart. What’s next?“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”- Matthew 28:19-20Congratulations! This is the best decision that you will make in your life. We want to continue to help you on this new journey and would love to connect with you about baptism. Stepping out in boldness and proclaiming your faith publicly through baptism is a great next step! Connect with one of our leaders and they can guide you on how and when you can be baptized. I was just baptized. What’s next?“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as ransom for many.”- Mark 10:45We are so happy for you and cannot wait to see what God does in your life! Your next step is to simply get involved! Find a place to serve in your church, in your community, or in your school. Jesus was a servant leader and he desires that for you too!I started serving. What’s next?“But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.”- 1 Samuel 12:24LIVE IT OUT! One of the ways that you can continue to live out your faith and grow spiritually is to stay plugged into your small group and to spend time in scripture and prayer daily. Stay connected with God and live out His Word, DAILY! You can check out our Discover tab and Groups DQs for more resources!
